i really like it when i say ‘I love you’ while she sleeps, and she smiles and waits a moment or two (to torture me) and replies ‘i love you, too.’ i never knew one person could make me so happy; complete me in such a way that i can imagine growing up with her, and reaching milestones like birthdays and anniversaries and graduations and promotions, and growing old together. she completes me so magnificently, just like that lyric by the national that goes, “I missed you before I saw you.”
she was that piece of the puzzle missing from my life.
